Cultural Immersion Tango Tour – **MAY 25th – JUNE 4th, 2010** $1600
My tour is based on learning by doing and immersing oneself. It’s called “immersion” because for 10 days we immerse ourselves in the city of Buenos Aires and Argentine Tango. The tour begins with a skeleton and becomes customized for the participants.
The goal of the tour is to dance daily and
- To see how the Argentine Tango “fits” into the culture to where it was born. And how it might be seen as evolving even in its birthplace.
- To hear live music and enjoy the culture of a big city that is Buenos Aires. This might include a soccer game, a show, live music, performances and whatever might be happening in the present moment in the city. These are usually planned during the tour itself.
Assistants are hired to accompany us to milongas and often enjoy the company of the participants.
No tango tour is complete without shoe shopping. Shoe shopping is an event in itself. It usually takes time and patience. I have recommendations and several of the vendors have known me for years.
This tour is fun, inspiring and can be exhausting.
I encourage the idea of “team tango” – we help each other out and work as a team to encourage the success of all who have come to perfect their dancing in Buenos Aires at whatever level.
