Just back from La Paz Tango Festival and jumping for joy that I am hosting another Leading Ladies workshop on Saturday from 12 – 2pm at the Solana Tango Room. RSVP to me if you will be joining us. Leading Ladies is a time for ladies to play with leading and following in a comfortable relaxed atmosphere. Come join us!
La Paz Tango Festival was a relaxed affair. We met so many wonderfully nice, open, and receptive people who have promised to come visit us in Phoenix! It was such a joy sharing tango with them. Rommel and I even got to snorkel with the sea lions on our day off. Now that was spectacular and fun!
The long weekend offered me the opportunity to remember that everyone has a story, something that may have changed the course of their life forever. And in Tango – to be open and receptive allows for the intimate dialogue of tango to emerge. I also know that I just have to be myself, to dance my dance, the best way that I can.
A little philosophy for the day!
I look forward to classes over the next few weeks.
Remember: Tuesday practicas for the next 3 weeks until the 17th (with Rommel hosting and teaching). Saturday the 6th – Leading Ladies, Saturday the 14th – Intermediate workshop on Volcadas. And lastly 2 more Sunday night classes and practicas, with a new schedule rolling out in the new year! Always check accesstango.com for information and updates.
Happy August Tangueros/as!
The whirlwind vacation is coming to a close and the fall line-up commences!
Sunday practica resumes August 4th at 6:30pm with an all level class. Tuesday practicas continue as usual (special thanks to Tyler Litman and Acacia Crouch for holding down the fort) and Saturday, August 10th will be another Leading Ladies workshop beginning at 12:00pm at Rhythmic Expressions. I am completely looking forward to that! We’ll start with a Restorative Stretch and dive right into some technique and figures both leading and following. Bring your questions and a towel to roll up. As I have stated previously, I think learning some very basic leading techniques improve our following skills. Come try it out! (Ladies only!)
Some of you have been asking about the Saturday workshops and I have yet to post those dates and topics. I will have those soon. I know with all the festivals in the fall and Thanksgiving that there are limited Saturdays which makes scheduling challenging but I appreciate your enthusiasm!
Finally, to say, that dancing in NYC, Boston, and Baltimore has been an exciting adventure: a chance to visit with old tango friends and to make new ones. As I have watched the milonga dance floors I have seen people who have reminded me of tango characters from all my years of dancing. It has been a mirror’s reflection of my experiences: my successes and trials in tango. There are lots of someones for everyone out there in tango world, so enjoy dancing!
And I am reminded that learning to tango most definitely has its stages. But no matter where you are in your journey and no matter where you are the music enraptures, the embrace captivates and it feels good to be a part of something bigger.
See you soon!
I am so excited! FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY!
Enough ladies have expressed an interest in learning how to lead – so here we go! This workshop is for ladies who want to learn to lead. This workshop will introduce leading skills and dispel any myths around leading. It will also give insight and improve your skills as a follower.
It will be a great time and if we want to continue to pursue this topic I have some great ideas!!!

Thirdly, How many lady’s want to learn to lead? I am asking because I would like to host a Leading Ladies workshop and would like to know what the level of interest is. Please send me a message.
